Aiyyaa!!! Rani Wants To Marry Someone.

Rani Mukhejee is back with her comeback role in Aiyyaa where she plays a zany character of a Marathi mulgi who lives in a simple middle-class family but dreams of Bollywood fantasies and wants to marry a guy who is dark-skinned and smells good. Sounds crazy?? Wait till you watch her giving various seductive poses in chhiffon sarees ala The Dirty Picture, romancing Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran and gyrating to funky music by Amit Trivedi.
Rani was last seen as a hot-headed journalist in last year's sleeper hit No One Killed Jessica where her acting was appreciated but it didnt work any wonders for her. Hope this film coproduced and written by "The Anurag Kashyap" and directed by Sachin Kundalkar resurrects her career or she will have nothing to do other than marrying Aditya Chopra.

KLPD (Kismet Love Paisa Dilli) Trailer

It is fitting that today i'm posting a trailer of a movie with a name that bears quite a similarity to this blog's name, albeit the full forms are different from the original KLPD ;)
Its been a long time since we saw Vivek Oberoi on silver screen though im not sure if anybody was really missing him. And kind of late, he's not been offered the movies that he deserves like Shootout At Lokhandwala, Yuva to name a few, in my opinion. Though i think his villainous act in Krissh 3 will change that. Till then Vivek fans can look forward to this "romantic" comedy starring him alongside Mallika Sherawat, Ashutosh Rana, Ashutosh Kaushik. The trailer pretty much focuses on nothing except Vivek's Tharki character, with the word "balaatkaar" flung around number of times. It is written and directed by Sanjay Khanduri ( Ek Chaalis ki last Local) and will release on 5th Oct.
Preview
Set in Delhi, Kismet Love Paisa Dilli is a one night mad-cap story of Tharki Lucky (Vivek Oberoi) and his Gazab Totta, Lovina (Mallika Sherawat). Lucky is a college going middle class dilli munda and Lovina is the girl next door, who miss their last metro train. What follows is a series of hilarious moments, as Lokesh and Lovina run across Delhi on this roller-coaster ride. From cold streets to glitzy farmhouse parties, from crazy cops to harami gundas.. all.. to gradually fall in love with each other.

The Amazing Spiderman Review : not much amazing, but still solid entertainment

Ok so here I am, writing my first entry in the blog, which is also my first movie review. Also, The Amazing Spiderman is the first part of the Spiderman franchise reboot by Columbia Pictures directed by Marc Webb. And the friendly neighbourhood superhero is played by the charming brit Andrew Garfield (The Social Network, Never let Me Go).
Marc handles this movie with a very different approach compared to other masked vigilante movies and adds his own touch. He tweaks the spidey origin story here and there which was essential to differentiate it from the one shown in Sam Raimi's Spiderman (2002). The love interest is not Mary-Jane as was in Raimi's franchise. Here it is fellow student Gwen Stacy played by Emma Stone who has a stronger role than MJ and she plays it well.
Peter Parker is still the lovable geek bullied by college jocks and having an interest in clicking pictures. He starts working for dr. Curtis Connors (Rhys Ifans) who was his father's friend and partner in developing cross species mutation and unknowingly develops a chemical which helps Connor turn into a big green lizard.
Though I am not sure if a reboot was really needed considering  the fact that the audience still has memories of Tobey Maguire's sleep-eyed act as the mutant spider-bitten hero. But the chemistry between Garfield and Stone is sweet and charming and it sometimes feels as if we are watching a rom-com infused with action.
The CGI effects are very cool and cinematography is perfect. A sense of urgency required to keep us glued to the seats is missing sometimes, but witty one-liners by Garfield keep up the fun quotient.
The post credits scene hints at a new nemesis for the second part.

The movie did not meet my sky-high expectations but i guess, its due to the Avengers' factor, which definitely raised the bar for comic-book films.
I would go with 3 out of 5 for this.
